La incredulidad y la arrogancia: raíz de los pecados
Vino en un hadiz: "Ciertamente, el mayor de los pecados es la incredulidad y la arrogancia". Y esto es correcto, pues estos dos pecados son el fundamento de todo pecado en los humanos y en los yinnes, pues Iblís es el que hizo eso primero, y es el fundamento de eso. Allah – Exaltado sea – dijo: "Excepto Iblís, se ensoberbeció y fue de los incrédulos" (sura Sad: 74). Y dijo – Exaltado sea: "Excepto Iblís que se negó y se ensoberbeció y fue de los incrédulos" (sura Al-Baqara: 34). En un hadiz auténtico de Muslim, Ibn Mas’ud dijo: "El Mensajero de Allah ﷺ dijo: 'No entrará al Fuego quien en su corazón tenga ni un átomo de fe, ni entrará al Paraíso quien en su corazón tenga ni un átomo de arrogancia'". Así que hizo que la arrogancia se oponga a la fe.
Así también la idolatría en Su dicho: "Ciertamente Allah no perdona que se Le asocie con Él" (sura An-Nisá: 48). Y dijo Ibn Masud: "El Mensajero de Allah ﷺ dijo: 'Quien muera sin asociar nada con Allah, entrará al Paraíso'", y dijo: "Quien muera asociando algo con Allah, entrará al Fuego'".
Hay quien reúne ambos [pecados], y de ellos quien se limita a uno de los dos. Al creyente recto, Allah lo ha protegido de ambos. Ciertamente el ser humano: o bien se somete solo a Allah, o se somete a otro además de Él, o no se somete ni a Allah ni a otro. El primero es el creyente. El segundo es el idólatra. El tercero es el arrogante incrédulo. Y puede no ser incrédulo en algunos casos. El problema de los cristianos es la idolatría, y el problema de los judíos es la arrogancia. Como dijo - Exaltado sea - acerca de los cristianos: "Toman a sus rabinos y monjes como señores fuera de Allah, y al Mesías hijo de María. Pero no se les ordenó sino adorar a una sola deidad. No hay más dios que Allah - Glorificado sea - por encima de lo que asocian" (sura At-Tawba: 31). Y dijo acerca de los judíos: "Apartaré de Mis signos a quienes se ensoberbezcan en la tierra sin derecho" (sura Al-A'ráf: 146). Por esto fueron castigados los judíos con la humillación y pobreza, y los cristianos con el desvío, las innovaciones y la ignorancia.
Disbelief and Pride: The Foundation of All Sins
It came in a hadith: "Truly, the greatest of sins are disbelief and arrogance." And this is correct, for these two sins are the foundation of every sin among humans and jinn, as Iblis was the first to do this, and he is the origin of it. Allah - Exalted be He - said: "Except Iblis, he grew arrogant and was among the disbelievers" (surah Sad: 74). And He said - Exalted be He: "Except Iblis who refused and grew arrogant and was among the disbelievers" (surah Al-Baqara: 34).
In an authentic hadith from Muslim, Ibn Mas'ud said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'No one with a gram's weight of faith in his heart will enter the Fire, nor will anyone with a gram's weight of arrogance in his heart enter Paradise.'" Thus He made arrogance oppose faith.
Similarly, idolatry in His saying: "Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him" (surah An-Nisa: 48). And Ibn Masud said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever dies without associating anything with Allah will enter Paradise,'" and he said: "'Whoever dies while associating something with Allah will enter the Fire.'"
Some people combine both [sins], while others are limited to one of them. The righteous believer, Allah has protected him from both. Certainly, the human being either submits to Allah alone, or submits to another besides Him, or submits neither to Allah nor to another. The first is the believer. The second is the idolater. The third is the arrogant disbeliever. And he may not be a disbeliever in some cases. The problem of Christians is idolatry, and the problem of Jews is arrogance. As He said - Exalted be He - about the Christians: "They took their rabbis and monks as lords besides Allah, and the Messiah, son of Mary. But they were commanded only to worship one God. There is no god but Allah - Glorified be He - above what they associate" (surah At-Tawba: 31). And He said about the Jews: "I will turn away from My signs those who act arrogantly on earth without right" (surah Al-A'raf: 146). For this reason the Jews were punished with humiliation and poverty, and the Christians with deviation, innovations and ignorance.
الكفر والكبر: أصل كل الذنوب
جاء في حديث "إن أكبر الكبائر الكفر والكبر" وهذا صحيح، فإن هذين الذنبين أساس كل ذنب في الإنس والجن، فإن إبليس هو الذي فعل ذلك أولاً، وهو أصل ذلك. قال الله تعالى: ﴿ إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ اسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ ﴾ [ص: ٧٤]، وقال: ﴿ إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ وَاسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ ﴾ [البقرة: ٣٤] وفي صحيح مسلم، عن ابن مسعود قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «لا يدخل النار من في قلبه مثقال ذرة من إيمان، ولا يدخل الجنة من في قلبه مثقال ذرة من كبر» فجعل الكبر يضاد الإيمان.
وكذلك الشرك في مثل قوله: ﴿ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِ ﴾ [النساء: ٤٨]، وقال ابن مسعود: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «من مات وهو لا يشرك بالله شيئاً دخل الجنة» قال: وأنا أقول: من مات وهو يشرك بالله شيئاً دخل النار.
ثم من الناس من يجمع بينهما، ومنهم من ينفرد له أحدهما، والمؤمن الصالح عافاه الله منهما. فإن الإنسان: إما أن يخضع لله وحده، أو يخضع لغيره مع خضوعه له، أو لا يخضع لا لله ولا لغيره. فالأول: هو المؤمن، والثاني: هو المشرك، والثالث: هو المتكبر الكافر. وقد لا يكون كافراً في بعض المواضع، والنصارى آفتهم الشرك، واليهود آفتهم الكبر، كما قال تعالى عن النصارى: ﴿ اتَّخَذُوا أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَانَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَالْمَسِيحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا أُمِرُوا إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا إِلَٰهًا وَاحِدًا لَّا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ سُبْحَانَهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ ﴾ [التوبة: ٣١]، وقال عن اليهود: ﴿ سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ آيَاتِيَ الَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ ﴾ [الأعراف: ١٤٦]، ولهذا عوقبت اليهود بضرب الذلة والمسكنة عليهم، والنصارى بالضلال والبدع والجهالة.
